The Harambee Starlets, Kenya’s Women’s National Team, travelled to Zambia to participate in the FIFA Four-Nations Tournament, which kicked off in Ndola on 6th June 2026. Ahead of their match against Zambia’s Copper Queens, Ambassador Grace Okara, Chargé d’Affaires at the Kenya High Commission, met with the team to deliver words of encouragement. Her message inspired the players to take to the field with confidence and pride as they represented Kenya on the international stage. Joined by Mission staff and Kenyans resident in Ndola, the ambassador attended the match as part of the High Commission’s commitment to sports diplomacy. The presence of the Kenyan delegation underscored the role of sport in fostering goodwill, strengthening people-to-people connections, and enhancing bilateral relations between Kenya and Zambia. It also highlighted Kenya’s support for its athletes abroad and the recognition of sport as a powerful tool for advancing international friendship and cooperation. In a closely contested encounter, the Starlets held Zambia to a 1–1 draw before falling in a penalty shootout. Despite the heartbreaking result, Ambassador Okara visited the team afterward to commend their resilience and encourage them to remain focused for the matches ahead. The Harambee Starlets played Lesotho on 9th June 2026, and won 6-0 against their opponents.
