Kenyans abroad remain a key constituency in the Government's foreign policy delivery, contributing remittances, skills, networks and ideas that advance Kenya's social and economic development.
The State Department for Diaspora Affairs, together with Kenya's foreign missions, coordinates registration, welfare, civic participation and homecoming support for the diaspora — and engages employers, host governments and partner agencies on the rights and protection of Kenyans living overseas. The Ministry encourages all Kenyans abroad to register with the nearest mission so that the Government can reach them in an emergency and keep them informed of community, investment and civic engagement opportunities.
