Kenya has reaffirmed its strong commitment to deepening regional integration under the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), through her Permanent Representative in Lusaka, H.E. Hon. Lilian Tomitom.
In her capacity as Kenya's Permanent Representative to COMESA, the High Commissioner has engaged the COMESA Secretariat on priority issues including the COMESA Digital Free Trade Area, the Tripartite Free Trade Area negotiations, women and youth in trade, and the harmonisation of customs procedures across the 21-member bloc. Kenya remains one of the largest economies within COMESA and a leading source of intra-COMESA exports. The High Commission continues to coordinate with the State Department for Trade and the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs to ensure Kenya's positions are well represented in the Council of Ministers and Summit processes hosted in Lusaka.
