COURTESY CALL BY THE BELGIAN AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE

The Belgian Ambassador-designate to the United Republic of Tanzania H.E. Amb. Mrs. Lot Debruyne paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner Amb. Catherine Karemu on 1st October, 2026 at the Chancery.

Amb. Karemu warmly welcomed Amb. Debruyne and congratulated her on the appointment. She expressed confidence that the incoming envoy’s tenure would contribute to strengthening the cordial relations between Kenya and Belgium, as well as constructive engagement within the diplomatic community in Dar es Salaam.

Amb. Debruyne thanked the receiving Ambassador for the warm welcome and conveyed readiness to work closely with the diplomatic corps. They exchanged views on their respective country’s expectations and discussed opportunities for cooperation on shared priorities including trade, agriculture and especially horticulture, regional stability and multilateral affairs.
