Our history
- 1963
After independence in 1963, one of the first Diplomatic Missions to be opened in Africa was in Kinshasa in 1967.
- 2022
The Consulate General of the Republic of Kenya in Goma was opened on 1st March, 2022.
The functions and responsibilities of the Kenya Consulate General, Goma are as follows: i. Promote socio-economic cooperation, trade and investment between Kenya and the DRC; ii. Enhance cooperation in peace and security including through Inter-Congolese Peace Dialogue; iii. Strengthening Kenya-DRC bilateral relations and diplomatic engagements; iv. Foster closer people-to-people exchange through education, tourism and culture; v. Promote regional integration for Kenya to reap optimal benefit and; vi. Improve diaspora engagement and provision of consular services.

The Kenya Consulate-General in Goma serves and protects Kenyans living, working and travelling in DR Congo, supports the diaspora, promotes trade and investment between the two countries, and represents Kenya's foreign-policy interests.
