STATE VISIT TO THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
H.E. Hon. William Samoei Ruto, PhD, C.G.H. undertook a State Visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan from 19th - 20th May 2026 as the first Kenyan President to visit Kazakhstan. This visit reflects the commitment of the two leaders to deepen and strengthen bilateral relations between Kenya and Kazakhstan to a strategic level
H.E. Hon. William Samoei Ruto, PhD, C.G.H. undertook a State Visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan from 19th - 20th May 2026 as the first Kenyan President to visit Kazakhstan. This visit reflects the commitment of the two leaders to deepen and strengthen bilateral relations between Kenya and Kazakhstan to a strategic level. Further, the President commended Kazakhstan on opening the Embassy in Nairobi marking a new chapter in the diplomatic journey between Kenya and Kazakhstan.
The visit culminated in the signing of bilateral agreements covering;
i. ICT and E-governance; ii. Agriculture; iii. Transport and Infrastructure; iv. Finance; v. Tourism; vi. Climate Action; vii. Mining and Exploration; and viii. Space Technology.
H.E. the President in turn addressed the Kenya-Kazakhstan Business Forum and noted that there was need for strategic partnership, stronger connectivity and shared opportunity. In order to advance partnership between the two countries, efforts on the establishment of direct flights between Astana and Nairobi will be explored to facilitate commerce, and promote greater people-to-people engagements.
