Bienvenido a la Embajada de Kenia, Yibuti

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in the Republic of Djibouti.

It is an honour to represent Kenya in Djibouti, a valued partner with which we share longstanding and cordial relations founded on mutual respect, shared interests and strong people-to-people ties. As countries situated in the strategically important Horn of Africa, Kenya and Djibouti share a common commitment to promoting peace, security, stability, regional integration and sustainable development.

Djibouti’s strategic position at the crossroads of Africa and the Red Sea, as well as its role as a regional gateway and logistics hub, presents significant opportunities for expanding Kenya–Djibouti economic and commercial cooperation. The Embassy will continue to promote stronger collaboration in trade and investment, transport and logistics, tourism, education, culture and other areas of mutual benefit. We will also work to enhance awareness of Kenya as a destination for investment, tourism and business, while facilitating meaningful partnerships between the private sectors of our two countries.

The relationship between Kenya and Djibouti extends beyond bilateral cooperation. Both countries share a strong interest in addressing the challenges and harnessing the opportunities facing the Horn of Africa. Through regional and multilateral frameworks, including the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the African Union, Kenya and Djibouti work alongside other partners to advance peace, security and stability. Kenya attaches great importance to these collective efforts and remains committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to a peaceful, integrated and prosperous region.

The welfare of Kenyan citizens in Djibouti remains central to the work of the Mission. We are committed to providing accessible, professional and responsive consular services, protecting the interests of Kenyan nationals and maintaining close and constructive engagement with the Kenyan diaspora. At the same time, the Embassy values its close cooperation with the Government and people of Djibouti, diplomatic missions, regional and international organisations, the business community, development partners, academic institutions and other stakeholders.

This website is designed to bring the Embassy closer to the people we serve and the partners with whom we engage. It provides information on Embassy and consular services, Kenya–Djibouti relations, trade and investment opportunities, tourism, diaspora affairs, public diplomacy and other activities of the Mission. I encourage you to explore the website and to use it as a gateway to information, communication and engagement with the Embassy.

Looking to the future, I am confident that Kenya and Djibouti will continue to build upon the strong foundation of our longstanding friendship and partnership. By working together, we can unlock new opportunities for cooperation, strengthen our bilateral ties, advance Kenya’s interests and contribute to shared prosperity in the Horn of Africa.

Thank you for visiting our website. I warmly welcome your engagement with the Embassy and look forward to working with all our partners to further strengthen the enduring friendship and partnership between Kenya and Djibouti.
