Kenya, Japan Deepen Infrastructure Investment Partnership

· Japan

Kenya and Japan advanced their partnership on infrastructure investment, building on a long-standing development cooperation.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary met the President of Fujita Corporation, in the presence of Japan’s Ambassador, and both sides committed to expanding economic cooperation between Kenya and Japan.

Building on past projects such as the Nairobi Southern Bypass, the discussions explored deeper investment in the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone, data centres, fisheries cold chains, housing, agriculture and technology.

Kenya emphasised that it seeks investment that delivers technology transfer, skills, enterprise growth and jobs, not infrastructure alone, as part of its strategy to be a competitive investment hub in Africa.
