Kenya and Türkiye deepen strategic ties as trade, investment and security take centre stage

Kenya and Türkiye strengthened their relationship with a focus on commercial, investment and security cooperation.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary met a visiting Turkish parliamentary delegation to strengthen relations between Kenya and Türkiye across trade, investment and security.

The two sides prioritised expanding Turkish investment and trade, and improving air connectivity between Kenya Airways and Turkish Airlines to boost tourism and business travel. Manufacturing, aviation and investment were identified as key sectors for jobs and technology transfer, with Kenya positioning itself as East Africa’s gateway.

Security cooperation featured prominently, building on the 2023 Defence Industry Agreement and the May 2026 Defence Cooperation Agreement, alongside emerging cooperation in health infrastructure and medical services.
