Kenya and Israel Deepen Agricultural Cooperation under MASHAV
الأخبار

The Embassy of Kenya in Tel Aviv continues to facilitate one of Kenya's most productive bilateral cooperation tracks with Israel — agricultural technology transfer and capacity building under MASHAV, Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation.

Kenya is among the leading recipients of MASHAV technical assistance in Africa. Kenyan agricultural professionals and graduates participate in long-form internships at the Arava International Center for Agricultural Training (AICAT) and in short courses at the MASHAV International Agricultural Training Center, covering smart irrigation, post-harvest management, horticulture, dairy and small-ruminant value chains. The Embassy works closely with MASHAV, the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Kenyan counterparts to identify training opportunities, accompany interns through their placements, and ensure that Kenyan returnees apply the skills acquired to agricultural enterprises at home — including demonstration farms in arid and semi-arid counties. This cooperation is anchored in the broader Kenya-Israel partnership framework, which includes joint engagement on water, irrigation and food security under the Galana-Kulalu initiative.
