The Kenya High Commission in Lusaka continues to champion stronger commercial ties between Kenya and Zambia, building on the long-standing framework of the Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation between the two sister republics.
Under the leadership of H.E. Hon. Lilian Tomitom, the Mission has engaged the Zambia Development Agency, the Zambia Association of Manufacturers and chambers of commerce in Lusaka and the Copperbelt to identify priority sectors for two-way trade — including agro-processing, financial services, ICT, horticulture, and tea and coffee value chains. Kenyan brands already have a notable footprint in Zambia across banking, insurance, aviation and retail. The High Commission is working with Zambian counterparts to address non-tariff barriers, streamline rules of origin under the COMESA Free Trade Area, and operationalise opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
